are the Soka Gakkai International-USA (SGI-USA), an American Buddhist community that promotes peace through individual happiness,
based on the teachings of the Lotus Sutra within Nichiren Buddhism of the Mahayana Tradition.
The SGI-USA is the
American branch of the SGI worldwide network. Members seek, through their practice of Buddhism, to develop the ability to live with confidence, to create
value in any circumstance and to contribute to the well-being of friends, family and community.
